Character Design Demo #1

Hey!
Here is a character demo I did yesterday as a test for some upcoming ingridients for my website…more on that later.

How this works is that I just turned on the camera and went to it - freehand- without a net!!!!

Its important to construct your characters. I began with the feet and worked upward - using simple forms and then added to them- bit by bit. The simple forms are good construction tools because the character has to be able to turn.

This was very good fun…I will have to do more…any suggestions for other characters?

That was amazing! You make it look so simple! Big thanks on this I’ve never been able to make up a workflow for drawing and the video really shows how you do it. Suggestions? How about some comments and tips while you draw, that would be great. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work!

    Thanks for the comments.

I can talk and draw at the same time….

By the way- there is space between Doggie’s legs- those are pants he has on…In fact when I began the drawing I had no idea where I was going with it…I did not know whether it would become an alien, or a person or an object.

Again, any suggestions for a topic or kind of character?

    Thanks again.
